Pregnancy loss is one of the most painful and unfair experiences a mother and family can endure. However, as birth, no one should experience loss alone and without support. Having compassionate support and closure in a loss process is essential in a healthy healing process.

HOW THIS SERVICE WORKS?

This service works by stablishing support directly with me of all options available when a loss happens. From live support during a miscarriage, testing, honoring options, follow up tests, to how to advocate for yourself with your provider. If medication or medical procedures are needed, we provide appropriate referrals in a timely manner.

TELEHEALTH SUPPORT

The initial telehealth consultation is always free where we draft a customized plan of support. Follow ups may vary by in person, phone or video appointments. This service provides a holistic approach if the miscarriage stays in the low risk range (no need for medical intervention) and it does not substitute medical care with a provider.

GENETIC TESTING

Genetic miscarriage testing and carrier testing are available with access to a geneticist that can answer any questions if any genetic conditions are detected. Gender can also be detected through this test, providing closure to loss families.

ULTRASOUND REFERRAL

Ultrasound is a simple and non invasive exam that provide answers and can also prevent undesirable outcomes such as infection and hemorrhage in a case of incomplete miscarriage. If you wish to have an ultrasound confirm viability, heartbeat or if all products of conception were passed properly, we provide ultrasound referrals to a cash pay provider with no fuss and no additional questions.

CONCEIVING AFTER LOSS

Pre-conception care allows parents to maximize the health and preparedness of anyone wishing to conceive after one or multiple losses. In this counseling process we discuss lifestyle choices, supplementation for increased fertility, health history, cycle health and monitoring.

Our babies, no matter how long or little, were part of our lives and should never be forgotten. I dedicate this service to my little angel baby that brought me to the path of supporting women and families in all aspects of childbearing years, including through loss.

WHO AM I?

I am Camila Santiago, a Certified Professional Midwife and home birth mother of 3 daughters. I have over 16 years of experience in newborn care and birth work. I am also a loss mother. My miscarriage experience was very lonely and traumatic. However this experience woke me to change the reality of miscarriage care in our currently medical system by providing appropriate and compassionate care all loss families deserve. I have bereavement training through Stillbirthday.
