I've been Trained and Certified through International Placenta & Postpartum Assosication - IPPA. Part of the certification process also requires certification in bloodborne pathogens and a current Clark County's Food Handler's Card.   Each placenta is prepared according to OSHA standards for sanitation & safety.

Your specialist will only have one placenta picked up and prepared at a time (on first-come first-serve basis). There is never a risk of mix up or cross contamination. Each placenta is prepared according to OSHA standards for sanitation & safety, which are always followed if either prepared at the specialist's work space.

The Traditional Method of preparation for placenta encapsulation follows this protocol: the placenta is cleaned, the umbilical cord is removed, and the placenta is steamed. The placenta is then dehydrated for 12-24 hours (most cases around 24 hours) at 160F, ground into a powder, and placed into capsules. The roots of the traditional preparation process come from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

The tincture is made with either a small piece of raw placenta or couple of capsules worth of placenta powder and high grade alcohol. The high grade alcohol (100 proof vodka) preserves and extracts the placenta properties providing this remedy undefined shelf life. The tincture has the same benefits of capsules and due to the longer shelf life it can be used later on in any time of trauma, transition, emotional distress, to ease the symptoms during the post-baby menstrual cycles and menopause.

The umbilical keepsake is simply the baby's umbilical cord which has been cleaned and drained of as much blood as possible. It is then arranged into a shape, word, letters, or other symbol upon your request. It serves as a sweet memory of your baby's lifeline in utero.

You can now understand why they call the placenta "The Tree of Life"! Your placenta print is made by pressing your placenta onto heavy stock water color paper before it's prepared for encapsulation or tincture. Prints are made usually using the placental blood or food coloring. Each placenta print is unique. They make a great keepsake and can be framed for display or added to your baby book.

Placenta Salve can be used during the postpartum period to ease and heal the discomforts of hemorrhoids, perineal tears/stitches, burns and on c-section scars after it's closed. The placenta salve is safe to be used on baby, as long as baby have no skin allergies. Great for burns, diaper rash, eczema, sunburns and skin irritation in general.
